You Are the Best Wife by AJAY K PANDEY
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Some books are read once and remembered forever, "You are the Best Wife" is one of such books.
"You are the Best Wife" by Ajay K Pandey is a journey of two people who lived their lives in countless moments.
The book is written beautifully which makes the reader laugh till page170 and page 171 onwards worry, pain agony and tears drive at first gear and in the end it finishes giving a positive message which is the most admiring part.
I have never cried while reading a book before, I have surely shed a few tears but I cried for the first time.
Personally, I cannot criticise this beautiful journey of two people who were so in love.
A must read for those who have lost their faith in true love.

Review: Anything to Look Hot
Anything to Look Hot by Jas Kohli
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Plot- The book revolves around the events from the life event of Dr. Dhruv who is a plastic surgeon.
Review: The book has many fun filled events recorded. I never knew the life of a doctor can even be so lively.
At one time even I wished to visit Dr. Dhruv to get myself corrected.I was so engrossed reading it that I didn't want to keep it down once I started.
The only spoilers were the grammatical errors else the book was a joy ride in itself.

Book review- Hero- The Unsung Rockstar- Pratham Devang
"Hero- The unsung rockstar" by 'Pratham Devang'.
Plot- The story revolves around Abhimanyu's life but the hero is his father who does all he needed to do as a father leaving Abhimanyu perplexed.
When the market is full of love affairs, here is one book with different and realistic plot, one that bounds you to give a thought and talk to your inner self.
Review- The book showcases the emotions of both father and son perfectly, where the son yearns for freedom from the dominances and stubborness of the father, the father tries to protect his son from all the evil outside and inculcate all the values in him which in long run help him grow big in his life.
It is very easy to ask our parents, "What have you actually done for me?" but do we really deserve to get an answer, of course no. We can never repay our parents for what they do for us and this book make that clear in our mind. Our parents are really no less than the super hero whose glory remains unsung.
Just a few typesetting errors were spotted like the spot on a moon else it is surely worth a read who wants to read something different from romance and chick flicks.
Kudos to you Pratham, tears and smile both adorned my face at the same time, that is what I was saying..:)

Book review- From where I see- Ajay Yadav
A revolution in itself. This book is totally different from our everyday read. Truth unleashed beautifully. Full of history and facts which helped me as a teacher too.
The way every point was explained holds the reader to know further and the book cannot be put down once.
This one was phenomenal and a must read who share the same believe as the author of one God one religion.
A few grammatical errors here and there but that can be ignored when the content is good.

Book review- 1st Job and 10 mistakes- Uttam Kumar
About the book - As the title suggests its a self help book and aptly written.
Review- Being a beginner myself I was eager to read this book and the moment I started reading it, it took me hardly an hour to complete it. The book guided me and honestly saved me from taking few brutal decisions.
I even got a lot of answers for my unanswered questions.
Personally I enjoyed the book with just one flaw towards the end which was a typing error I guess. Else this book should be part of every 1st timers' shelf. :)

A beautiful mistake
"Mehul", Vikram called his best friend and collapsed on floor. Mehul came running to see what happened and found Vikram lying unconscious in the room. Immediately with the help of other friends Mehul took him to the nearest hospital.
After half an hour in the hospital corridor
"Nurse how is Vikram?", Mehul asked.
"Sorry Sir, I can't say anything", the nurse gave the usual answer and left in jiffy.
After an 45 minutes when doctor came out after examining.
"Mr. Roy", the doctor called Mehul.
"Yes doctor", he rushed at once.
"Mehul its just over consumption of alcohol, what has happened to your generation you all drink like hooligans and affect your health, are you even drunk?
"No doctor, I don't drink now.", he replied.
"Don't drink now, you use to drink before?", the doctor asked while she signalled him to enter the cabin.
"Yes, doctor I use to drink before but now it has been nearly 8 months, I have not touched alcohol", he said taking a seat.
"And what made you leave alcohol?", the doctor asked while writing the prescription.
"She", and this three letter word were enough for the doctor to understand, she did not ask further and handed him the prescription.
"Vikram has to stay here for one night, and anyone of you can stay with him.", the doctor said.
"I will.", and he left the cabin with a smile on his face, for the first time in 8 months he smiled whole heartedly remembering her.
He went to the chemist centre to get the prescribed medicines and returned within 15 minutes.
He entered Vikram's room and patted him, "So how are you feling now?", he asked.
" I will not drink now, I promise.", he said making a puppy face.
"Hmm, will see.", he said mockingly.
"You sleep, I am outside.", Mehul left the room.
It was just 8 in the evening, Mehul was standing near the window at the end of the corridor. He was looking at the couple who were waiting outside the gynaecologist's cabin for their chance.
He smiled when he saw the husband taking care of his wife, she dropped the water bottle and made a puppy face looking at him, he picked up the bottle and made her drink water. Then the wife kept her head on his chest and he caressed her hairs, kissed her forehead. Looking at them Mehul smiled in solace, while he was engrossed watching the lovely couple a voice struck his ears and the words made him look into the direction of the voice, "All my wishes were his command."
He could not believe his eyes he finally found her, she was right in front of him. Even her face lit up with a smile as soon as he saw her.
They walked towards each other and was about to embrace each other when Mehuli's baby belly interrupted their hug. He looked at her face and had a broad ear to ear smile for he knew it was his baby, rather their baby.
So many questions were to be asked, alot of them to be answered but they chose to keep quiet for the moment for that moment was precious.
He made her sit on the near by bench, cupped her face, kissed her forehead wiped her tears and uttered the three magical words which she always wanted to hear," I LOVE YOU BABY."
Tears found there way out from her eyes, they started flowing profusely. He tried not stop them and just placed her head on his chest and patiently waited for her to stop crying.
For the first time he let her cry for he hated to see her even sad.

For the first time he let her cry for he hated to see her even sad.
After half an hour, she was finally feeling light; she let
out every single drop she wanted to shed since 8 long months.
“I was in New York; I went there the very next week, so that
I don’t create any havoc in your married life.”, saying this she just parted
herself from him, as for now he must be married for 7 months and she had no
right on him.
She tried to stand up but he held her hand and said, “Today
only I will say and you will listen.”
She looked into his eyes and gave consent by blinking both
her eyes together, which was the gesture he always fell for.
“That night when we realised our love for each other was the
best night of my life baby, and I know even yours. After making love to you
that night I felt complete and found my soul mate in you. The next morning when
I woke up I was shocked not to find you anywhere, I looked for you in the
entire apartment, I tried to call you but all went in vain, your cell phone was
switched off, I asked the gatekeeper if he knew anything about your where about
and it was then when I got to know that you left early morning with all your
luggage never to come back.”, he had a lump in his throat while uttering the
last few words
“He said that that you asked him to call for a taxi for the
station.” , everything was clear in front of me. I understood that you left
thinking that I will abandon you but how could you think about me like that?
Did you had this thought?” his eyes were brimming with tears now.
She cupped his face and gave a peck on his cheeks and said,
“I didn’t wanted to ruin your relationship with Sagarika you were about get
married within a month from then, I could not see you sad for I LOVED YOU and I
LOVE YOU and will LOVE YOU FOREVER.
“I LOVE YOU TOO”, he dropped a tear and she kissed it away.
“I called Sagarika to call off the marriage and told her
about us, I told her everything and she wanted to meet me for the last time, I
was expecting that so I agreed.
She came to my apartment, slapped me and went off, and after
that I flied straight to Chennai to find you as I knew you would come there for
once. i took a taxi to your place but your parents said that you gave them
swear not to tell where you vanished suddenly. I flied back to Bangalore and
joined my job again but you changed me, that night when I sat with my whiskey
bottle I could not take a single sip and then I promised that I won’t drink till
I find you.”, he said this with a grin.
“Baby, I will drink today.” He smiled ear to ear again.
She gave him a ‘don’t you dare think that’ look.
“Okay okay I won’t. After that I use to check your facebook
profile and whatsapp last seen but both were useless, it gave no hints about
your location. Then I decided to wait, because I knew you waited for that night
for 3 long years and now it was my time to wait and I was ready to wait for
eternity.” He was about to continue his side of story but a ward boy
interrupted them.
“Are you both with any patient?”, he interrogated.
“Yes, he is in room number 4 there.” Mehul said.
“sir you are well aware with the rules of the hospital that
only one visitor can stay back with the patient and ma’am I don’t think so you
can sit here all night long and as the visiting hours are over you should
leave.”, he said in the most polite tone.
“Okay I will.”, she said it with a warm smile.
“But I want to talk to you.”, Mehul said lowering his head
making a sad face.
“Our baby needs rest, she wants to sleep.” , she said while
her fingers made their way through his hair.
“It is a girl, you know how much I wanted a daughter, and I always
told you that I want a daughter whenever I have a child, aww baby you fulfilled
this wish of mine.”, he said this and kissed her forehead.
“I did not do anything, it was you”, she winked.
“Someone has become naughty”, he pulled her cheeks.
“It is the effect of your company.” And they laughed
together but soon controlled as they were in hospital corridor.
“Wait let me call Akshat, he is downstairs and he will stay
back here and we can go home so that you two can take rest.” he said this with
a smile.
Akshat came up and took the charge. He handed the car keys
to Mehul. They both went to the driveway and he let the door open for his
queen, she sat inside, he closed the door and went to the driving seat.
He was driving as carefully and as slowly as possible.
“Mehul really it is you?” She asked astonishingly.
“Yeah it’s me.” He said surprised.
“I never thought you can drive that slow.” She said.
“Ohh! Yes I can drive slow so as not to wake up my baby
there.” He said that keeping his left hand on her belly.
Mehuli smiled with a rolling tear. Mehul tapped her right on
her head and the baby kicked from inside and she burst into a laugh.
“What happened”, he asked.
“Your daughter is your copy, she kicked while you tapped for
dropping the tear”, she said with a huge smile on her face which showed her
contentment.
Mehul gave his cutest smile.
They both reached home and entered the apartment. Mehuli
became nostalgic entering ‘their home’, that’s what Mehul said while entering.
“Welcome to our home Mehuli”, he said with his a huge smile showing all his 32 teeth.
Love - A Trap.
Jia
entered the office hesitating, it was her first day and she was nervous. She
went to her cubicle kept her purse, took a deep breath and the moment she
decided to sit, someone called her name from behind.
"Yes" she said turning back.
"Come to my cabin, let me explain you your job." he said smiling, trying to make her feel comfortable.
She
followed him to his cabin.
"Have
a seat." he said.
"Sir,
I.." she hesitated.
"Sit."
he said insisting.
Then
for half an hour he briefed her about the responsibilities she had to bear.
'"Any
questions?" he asked.
"No,
you explained it so well sir." she smiled.
"Ah!
Finally someone smiled." he winked.
Jia
just blushed a little more and walked out of cabin a girl who was 10 times more
confident than who entered half an hour back.
Jia
worked hard, she was the first to enter and last to leave the office. She
was the first employee to get an 'employee of the month' award after her first
month service only. All the girl envied her, not because she was
performing well but because the most charming employee of the office, Mr
Rajveer Singh, talked properly just to her.
Jia
herself could not understand that why Rajveer was so lenient towards her and a
ruthless boss for others.
One
fine evening it started pouring heavily; Jia was standing at the bus stop
trying to hold her umbrella tight, while she was struggling with the broken
umbrella a car screeched to halt.
Rajveer came out and asked Jia to sit, she obeyed the instruction.
"Sir
I would have taken the bus" she broke the ice.
"Any thorns on the seat?" he asked.
She
didn't say anything and he smirked.
*One
morning at the office.*
As
usual Jia was the first one to enter office that day even, but as she entered
she saw someone near the coffee machine, it was Radhika.
Radhika envied Jia since the day she joined because Rajveer never paid attention to her but was an ideal boss for Jia.
Radhika envied Jia since the day she joined because Rajveer never paid attention to her but was an ideal boss for Jia.
"Hey,
good morning." Jia wished Radhika cheerfully 'cause for the first time for
a change she had someone around when she entered office.
"Hmm"
was a cold reply.
"You
okay? You turned up so early today? Any backlog?" Jia enquired.
"Why,
is my presence disturbing you?" she questioned back.
"No."
Jia said without saying anything further for she understood that she wasn't
wanted.
Jia
start making a call and the call gets received.
"Good
morning sweetheart." she chirped.
"Get
up." she said.
"Okay
but just 5 minutes, then get up..okay?" she instructed sweetly.
"Aww,
love you too baby." she said and disconnected.
Radhika
was staring Jia and as Jia turned back she gave back a confused look to her.
"You
have a boyfriend?" Radhika asked smiling.
"No"
she replied astonished.
Radhika
gave her back a perplexed looked.
"Oh
he, he is my best friend." she said looking towards her phone.
"But
I never saw you talking so comfortably to anyone else." she asked
curiously.
"Yeah
he is my only male friend who knows me in and out." she said smiling with
content.
"And
what about Rajveer?" Radhika threw an unexpected question.
"What?"
Jia was startled.
"Rajveer
and you are dating right?" she asked raising her right eyebrow.
"What!
No! no for god sake Radhika. Who told you this?" Jia asked taken
aback.
"I
thought, actually the way he behaves with you and then he smiles just to you
and... I.." she was confused what to say further.
"You
like him right? Should I tell him this? I mean look at you, you are beautiful,
smart and intelligent. You both would be perfect for each other." she said
with excitement.
"No
no no." she hushed Jia.
"Why?"
a question came.
"Rajveer
is a tough man. He is not like other guys." she sighed.
"I
will talk to him whenever you are ready." she smiled at Radhika trying to
comfort her.
This
gesture of Jia made these two totally opposite girls best of friends.
*One
fine morning in Rajveer's cabin.*
"May
I come in sir?" Jia knocked the door and peeped in.
"Yes."
Rajveer said with a stern look on his face while eyes examining some papers.
"This
file was done by Radhika right?" Rajveer asked smiling.
"Yes
sir." she smiled back.
"This
is a piece of crap" he threw the file which flew across the cabin from
above her shoulders, hit the cabin door and fell on ground.
"Sir
I..." she started weeping.
"You
did it, right?" he asked.
She
just nodded her head in yes.
He
got up from his chair and walked towards her, stood near her rather close to
her, he was standing so close that his breath fell straight on her forehead,
she stepped back and he stepped ahead took her hand in his and said, "Jia
don't do this to me. Don't push Radhika towards me, I can never love her, she
will just get hurt."
"But
sir she is a good girl, smart, beautiful, intelligent and above all she loves
you." she said trying to loosen his grip but in vain.
"But she isn't you." he finally spat the truth.
"Sir."
was all she could utter.
"I
love you Jia." he said looking straight into her eyes.
"Me?
But why? I mean how? I mean really? I am not dreaming hopefully. I.." she
couldn't understand how to respond, she lost her senses for some time.
"Shhh..."
he hushed her by keeping his finger on her lips.
"So
many questions Jia, really I nicknamed you right ‘Miss confused’, but I want to
make you Mrs. Jia Rajveer Singh." he said making her blush.
"Sir
but.." before she could say anything further, her phone buzzed and she had
to receive it as it was her mother calling.
"Hello"
she answered the call.
"Hello"
an unknown male voice replied.
"Yes,
who is this?" she inquired.
"Ma'am
the two people in the car met with an accident, I found this phone near them,
we are taking them to the city hospital, yours was the last dialled number, do
you know who these people are?" the man tried to say it as quickly as
possible.
"Maa"
Jia could only utter this and dramatically dropped the phone down and it hit
the floor.
"Jia,
what happened?" Rajveer asked shuddering her.
"Accident,
ma papa, hospital." Jia was talking in to infinity, all she did was cried.
Rajveer
called back on the number from Jia's phone and inquired about what was going
on, after ending the call, he pulled Jia and took her immediately to the
hospital.
They
were sitting in the corridor outside the operation theatre, Rajveer was taking
care of anything needed by the doctor, Radhika and other female employee were
taking care of Jia who was not ready to drink even a drop of water and was
crying nonstop.
After
2 hours doctors came out of the operation theatre and Jia ran towards him but
before Jia could throw her questions he said something that made her world go
upside down, "I am sorry."
These three words summed it up all.
Jia
could not believe her ears, how would she, her parents were her world, her
father was the one who protected her always, her hero and her mother was the
one who taught her everything from mannerisms to cooking.
She
cried, yelled and wept; she became a tear dropping living dead.
Her
relatives both maternal and paternal reached the hospital, the ladies were
hugging Jia and all were saying, "don't worry we are there for you."
but inside everyone was cursing the moment.
The
bodies were ready to be taken for cremation but a question was the topic of
gossip, yes Indian women never let go off gossip, they all were discussing
about who would perform the cremation ceremonies?
Though
Jia was not in state of understanding things but she could hear the whispers
and she suddenly stood up and said, "I will perform the funeral
ceremony."
The
relatives opposed her but she was stubborn about her decision, suddenly a woman
came and was about to slap her when Rajveer held her hand and pushed her away a
bit.
"If
Jia wants to do this, no one here will stop her from doing It." he said
aloud so that he was heard clearly.
"But
this is not right." a middle age man said so.
"Written
anywhere?" he raised his eyebrows.
And
no one had the answer.
The
ceremonies were performed, Rajveer stood tall with Jia, held her shivering
hands, let her cry on his shoulder, made her sleep and sat beside her all night
long calming her down when she suddenly woke up, letting her cry and then
wiping her tears dry when she again went back in the embrace of sleep.
Rajveer
became her solace and her comfort zone. He became her saviour.
Jia
started to go office, she was trying to live a normal life, she just didn't
want to leave office but she had to. Rajveer took care that he drops her safely
every evening. Sometimes he used to make her have her dinner and then leave.
Jia
was trying and adjusting to her circumstances but then there are certain people
who don’t want people to live in peace, and relatives are the perfect example
of such people.
Jia
was an introvert girl, a girl who respected all her elders but the elders now
crossed their limits.
It was just 4 months she lost her world, and every relative started forcing her for getting married and the boys they were finding were nowhere a match for her.
It was just 4 months she lost her world, and every relative started forcing her for getting married and the boys they were finding were nowhere a match for her.
*At
the office.*
"Jia,
Jia" Rajveer yelled.
"Yes
sir, sorry sir, yes sir, what were you.." and before she could complete
her abrupt sentence Rajveer made her sit on the chair and made her drink water.
He
pulled the other chair and sat in front of her, taking her hands in his he
asked, "Tell me, and don't say it's nothing, because I can clearly see you
are disturbed, what it is?"
"Now
they want me to get married." she said trickling a tear.
"Then
get married." he said looking at her pale face, wiping the tear.
"But."
before she could say anything, he sealed her lips by kissing her forehead.
"Will
you marry me?" he asked like a gentleman, going down on his knees, holding
her right hand in his left while she stood there amazed.
She
stood there, lowering her eyes and meekly she said, "I don't want any more
favours from you."
"Do
ME a favour then, marry me." he said in his stern yet cute voice.
"How
will this be a favour for you?" she asked stunned.
"I
need a lady in my life, as it is said a man never grows up, likewise I haven't
grown up too. I want you to take care of me, handle me and love Me."
he said smiling like an idiot.
"Me.."
she was startled.
"Yes
Miss Jia, you." he said affirming.
"Okay
sir." she said obeying.
"Sir?" he raised his eyebrows in question.
"Yes,
sir." she said cutely.
"Rajveer
is the name." he said pulling her closer.
"Office."
she said trying to push him away.
"I
forgot." he said poking his tongue out.
Jia
went out without answering him, without even looking back at him. She was still
puzzled about what to do, whether to accept the proposal or marry someone her
relatives choose for her.
That
night Jia could not sleep, she was unable to decide which direction to go; she
thought if she chooses Rajveer she might hurt her relatives whereas on the
other hand her relatives just wanted to get rid of their responsibility rather
they named her as burden and Jia knew that well.
Jia
was never in love with Rajveer, who she loved was a not a question ever asked;
by the way that was a different story altogether, she just knew the one she
loves could never be hers.
She
was in a situation where she had to choose the best out of the worst, and the
best option was to marry Rajveer, for her it was an arranged marriage only.
The
next morning she when she reached office she was determined to tell Rajveer
about her decision.
“Yes”
she said while taking a seat in Rajveer’s cabin.
“What?”
he asked raising an eyebrow.
“Umm..
I will marry you.” she said lowering her eyes.
“Good,
you are real quick in making decisions and I appreciate that.” He said winking.
She
smiled feebly and left the cabin.
*In
Rajveer’s cabin*
“Hello?”Rajveer
makes a call and it gets received.
“Hello
Rajveer.” His boss from the other side replied.
“Sir
she has agreed.” He said chuckling.
“Very
good my boy, finally you did it.” His boss replied from the other side.
“Thank
You sir, will talk to you later.” He said disconnecting the call.
Was
this a normal conversation? Why Rajveer did inform his boss immediately about
this acceptance of marriage proposal by Jia? Was he too close to him and he
shared every bit of his personal life with him or was this some official
affair? Marriage or something else, what was it?
After 6 months of her
parent’s death Rajveer asked Jia to marry him as he said he can’t wait anymore
to make her his ‘forever’.
She accepted as she
had no other goals to be achieved and thought it was the best way to get rid of
her pain.
A bollywood wedding
was her dream since childhood, and that did happen but with a little twist, she
had to do a court marriage, which was even a common bollywood style.
*At Rajveer’s place*
“Be comfortable, this
is your kingdom now, you are the queen; rule it as you want.” He said showing
her the house.
“Let’s call it home.”
She said while having a look of the kitchen, her favourite part of the house.
“Your wish, my
command.” He said bowing down.
“Umm.. That is going
to be our bedroom.” He said pointing towards a close door.
An awkward silence
prevailed for few seconds.
“Let’s change; you
must be tired; even I am.” He said showing her way to the room and asking her
to enter first.
“Yeah.” She replied.
They head towards
‘their’ bedroom.
She changed and sat
on the couch.
“Won't you
sleep?’ he asked.
“Yes, I will sleep
here only.” She said trying to control her yawn.
“Okay, take all your
time; here is your blanket and your pillow.” He placed both on the other side
of the couch.
“Good night.” Rajveer
said and passed his most handsome smile.
“Good night.” She
replied feebly.
He switched off the
light and both of them slept soundly.
Next morning it was a
Sunday.
“Good morning Jia,
get up here is your green tea.” He wished her placing the tray on the side
table.
“Sir, why you did
this, I am sorry I could not get up early, I won't give you a chance
of complain from tomorrow, I promis..” she was just blabbering when he
kept his palm on her lips.
“Shh.. I am not like
those typical Indian male who would turn you into a housewife. You can do
whatever you want, hang out with friends, party hard and do whatever you love.
I won't stop you ever." he said pouring the tea in the
cups.
“How many cubes of
sugar?” he asked while she was busy gazing him with mouth wide open.
“Two.” She said
taking her eyes away from him.
“Here ma'am your
green tea with 2 cubes of sugar.” He said offering her the tea.
“Thank you.” she said
smiling warmly.
This was the starting
of their husband and wife relationship.
*In the evening, the
same day*
“Pack your bags; we
have a flight tomorrow morning.” He said showing her the tickets.
“Flight? Where are we
going? We have office tomorrow.” She asked it all in a single breath.
“Yes I prefer flight
over train. We are going to Simla for our honeymoon and I have taken leave for
both of us.” He said in the same manner as Jia asked and they burst into
laughter after a moment of silence.
“Sir Honeymoon?” she
asked a little embarrassed.
“Don't tell me I
need to explain you this even.” He said smiling wickedly.
“No, I mean
sir..” she could not find words to ask the question she wanted to ask.
“It’s just a holiday
Jia, we both need a break and therefore I planned this trip. Now go pack the
bags please.” He said in a reassuring tone.
“Okay sir.” She said
satisfied.
“Raj, can you please
call me Raj.” He said sounding irritated.
“Okay Sir..No I mean
Raj.” She said poking her tongue.
She packed the bags
and they left for their much needed holiday.
After a very long
time Jia was feeling content, she had the old chirping smile on her face and the
same twinkle in her eyes.
“A kid she is.”
Rajveer thought to himself and smiled.
They reached Shimla
soon.
“I will see if I
could get two rooms.” said Rajveer.
“No need, we can
share the same room as we did last night.” Jia said in a firm voice.
“Okay.” Rajveer said.
They reached the
hotel, collected the key from reception and walked to their room.
“I will sleep here on
the couch tonight.” Rajveer said putting his t-shirt down.
“Wait I am coming.”
said Jia in a bit louder voice from inside the bathroom.
“Yeah what were you
saying.” she said coming out and towel drying her hair.
“I was sayi...” he
could not complete his sentence when he saw Jia dressed up in a cute t-shirt
& lower with micky mouse print on it and her open wet hair.
“Sir.” She said
waving her hands in front of his eyes.
“Yes.” He said taken
aback.
“What were you
saying?”She asked combing her hair.
“Umm...I..Yeah I was
saying that I will sleep here on the couch.” He said jittering with words.
“You okay? I guess
you are tired.” she said pouring a glass of water and gave it to Rajveer.
“Oh! So my wife is
concerned about me. Nice.” He said taking the glass and smiled to her.
“I am hungry.” Jia
said trying to hide her blushing smile.
“Yes even I am
hungry.” He said walking towards the phone kept for room service.
He picks up the phone
and calls for the room service.
“Yes a chicken sweet
corn soup, dried chilly chicken and chicken noodles all this for two people.”
He instructed and asked if anything else was needed from Jia.
She nodded her head
in a no.
“Just 15 minutes
more.” He said settling himself on the couch.
“Okay.” She said and
walked towards the window sill.
“Hey, harsh winds are
blowing out, here take this.” He said wrapping a shawl around her and wrapped
his arms around her too.
“Sir..Uh..I mean
Raj..” she said shrugging her shoulders.
“What happened?” he
asked loosening his grip.
“Nothing, I just need
time.” She said lowering her eyes.
“I can wait for an
eternity.” He said holding her by shoulder.
“Thank you.” she said
passing a weak smile.
Meanwhile a waiter
knocked the door, the dinner arrived and they had it quietly.
Rajveer made Jia
enjoy the entire week, she laughed, giggled and had fun after a very long time
and she rediscovered herself during this holiday. She felt rejuvenated and
Rajveer left no stones unturned to make her feel like a princess.
It seemed as if the
week passed by with the blink of an eye.
“Thank You.” said Jia
holding Rajveer’s hand in the flight.
“Welcome.” He said
asking no question and holding back her hand more firmly.
She tilted her
head a bit and kept it on his shoulder wrapping her arms around his arms and
drowned into a deep slumber.
“Hey we are home.”
said Rajveer whispering to her so as not to disturb her sleep.
“Hmm..” she uttered
waking up.
They entered home and
Rajveer made her sleep on the bed and while he turned to walk towards the couch
Jia held his hand and asked him to sleep with her on the bed.
“You sleep; I will
make myself comfortable there. Don’t worry.” He said running his hand through
her forehead.
“No I want you here
beside me, so that I can sleep in peace, which I have found after a very long
time. I want to sleep in your embrace, please let me.” She said holding his
palm.
“A little kid you are
really, let me switch off the lights at least.” He said smiling and gestured
her to leave his hand and let go of him.
He switched of the
light and the room was filled with moonlight, while he sat beside Jia, she held
Rajveer’s hand and slept holding it with content and all Rajveer did was fall
for her.
The next morning they
both woke up and rushed for the office.
When they
entered the office, everyone congratulated them and showered them with gifts
and bouquets.
Jia and Rajveer
thanked everyone. Jia moved towards her cubicle whereas Rajveer entered his
boss’s cabin.
“So Rajveer how was
your holiday.” asked a man in his early fifties.
“It was a nice break
sir.” Rajveer said taking a seat.
“Hmm! Hope
you didn't cross your limits?” asked Mr. Rajat Khanna.
“No sir, I didn’t.”
He answered this question feeling a bit uncomfortable.
“That’s good, you
remember right, that they want it pure.” He said winking.
“Yes sir, I remember.
Now I should resume back to my work.” He said leaving his seat and he was
already enraged.
“You okay Rajveer?”
he asked a bit confused.
“Yes sir, it’s just
that I have a lot of backlog.” He said and left the cabin.
On his way he bumped
into his cute little wife, he was about to shout but then he saw it was her and
could not utter anything.
“I need to talk to
you about something.” Jia said with a tensed expression.
“What happened?” he
asked gesturing her to calm down.
“Let’s go to
your cabin.” She said and started dragging him inside.
“Hey this is office,
control baby.” he said giggling and winking.
“Shut up Rajveer,
just come.” She said hitting him lightly on his arm.
“Rajveer?” he asked
playfully raising an eyebrow.
“Urrgghh..Sir
please.” She said agitated.
“Ha ha..Okay come.”
He said holding her hand.
All of this was
witnessed by someone, and he smirked. Was this healthy smirk or was he obsessed
with something evil?
*Inside
Rajveer’s cabin.*
“Radhika resigned and
this happened all because of me, she loved you and I snatched you from her.”
Jia told Rajveer.
“It was not your mistake,
stop blaming yourself; I was never interested in her.” He said pulling her
closer.
“I got some work at
my cubicle.” She said pulling herself aside.
“I hate you.” said
Rajveer making a puppy face.
“Bye, meet you at
lunch.” She said and ran out of the cabin after teasing him.
“I won't spare
you.” he said and laughed.
*During lunch*
Every employee was
having lunch together, having chit chat and teasing the new couple and only
then the boss entered the mess area and everyone stood up.
“Keep sitting
everyone.” He said in a firm voice.
“Next week the
clients from Chennai are coming, we need to make the presentations real soon
and Rajveer would be leading you all in this project.” Instructed the boss and
winked at Rajveer.
Rajveer ignored the
gesture and kept quiet and everyone was looking at him but he was in some other
world till Jia nudged him and he said, “Yes sir I will guide them to make the
best presentation.”
“Good.” Said Mr.
Khanna and left passing a wicked smile which only Rajveer could understand and
that smile sent chills down Rajveer’s spine.
Rajveer distributed
the work amongst all his subordinates but did not include Jia in it.
Jia noticed that she
was assigned no work, she thought Rajveer was being biased and hence he didn’t
load her with work but being a sensible girl she thought of talking about it in
isolation.
*At home.*
“Coffee?” asked Jia.
“Yes baby please.”
Rajveer said jumping on the sofa.
“Here it is.” She
said placing the coffee mug on table and sat on the sofa herself.
While Rajveer
was shuffling the channels on television Jia was staring at him, while he
looked aside to pick his coffee mug he saw Jia staring him and he gestured
shrugging his eyebrows.
“Why you did not
assign me any work related to that Chennai project.” She asked politely.
“Baby just stay away
from this project please.” said Rajveer.
“But why?” inquired
Jia.
“because I said so.”
Rajveer said in a stern voice.
“I have always
assisted you in every project, why should I stay away from this?” she asked with
a choked voice.
“You will still
assist me, but won't be part of the presentation on the final day, I
will make sure no one harms you.” he murmured in an audible voice.
“No one harms me?
What are you say Raj? You okay?” she asked numerous questions.
Rajveer stood up sat
beside Jia, wrapped his arms around her shoulder and kissed her forehead.
“Baby, trust me on
this please, without asking any question. It’s my humble request.” He said
looking into her eyes.
“I do.” She said and
kept her head on his chest and hugged him sideways.
Jia started falling
for Rajveer and that was clear from her gestures since they returned from
Shimla, but a question was to be asked from Rajveer, did he really deserve this
affection.
The office was
witnessing rush all over, everyone was busy in preparing the best presentation
but Rajveer was least interested, the one who use to motivate other for working
hard, whose name was quoted for being responsible was lagging behind from his
subordinates even.
Rajveer use to drown himself
in the pool of thoughts, he use to be
lost in mind castle and had no idea about what was going around, as if he was
going through a rough patch, but what was it?
*In Rajveer’s cabin,
the phone rings and Rajveer receives it.*
“Hello?” Rajveer answers.
“Have you fallen in
love with it?” it was Mr. Khanna, the boss, on the other side.
“No..no sir.” Rajveer
answered startled.
“Then why are you so
concerned about it?” he asked.
“Sir I am winning her
confidence.” He said clearing his throat.
“Her?” asked the
boss.
“It, I meant.”
Rajveer said taking a deep breath.
“Hmm..better control
Rajveer.” The boss said and
disconnected.
Rajveer sighed and
gulped a lump down his throat.
“I need to do
something real soon, just three days are left.” He thought to himself.
While he was trying
to figure out what is to be done his lovely wife enters his cabin.
“Hey.” She said
peeping inside.
“Hmm.. what
happened.” He immediately tried to put his smile back.
“Nothing, its lunch
time and I brought our lunch here only. It’s our lunch date today.” She said
giggling.
“Oh my baby is in
romantic mood today?” he asked and winked.
“No no, everyone has
gone out for lunch today so I thought of having it here instead of canteen.”
She said.
“Oh my hands are
aching.” He said poking his tongue out.
“I won’t.” She said.
“Please.” He did his
trick with the smile.
“Okay.” She said and
started serving the food on plates.
They both had their
lunch engrossed in love.
Rajveer was
determined to save Jia from the trouble she was about to face, a trouble about
which Jia didn’t have slightest of idea.
Rajveer just did not
want to save Jia but also wanted to reveal the true colours of his boss, though
he was part of all this before but now when he realised his feelings for her he
can’t let her become the victim neither did he want that any other girl to face
what they decided for Jia.
Rajveer knew it was
great risk but then he told himself, “everything is fair in love and war and
she is my love of life.”
He knew what exactly
he has to do, his evil mind worked for the first time like an angel then.
*On the day of
presentation, in Mr. Khanna’s office.*
“but Rajveer, how she
can fall ill like that.” Mr. Rajat said frustrated.
“Sir I tried to keep
her all well but yesterday while I was working on the presentation at night I
don’t know when she went out to get wet in the rain.” He said lowering his
head.
“Hell with the
presentation, what will I do without her, it is a deal worth 5 crores and we
were getting it just in exchange of her one night Rajveer.” Yelled the boss.
“Sir, what to do
now?” Rajveer asked with a grin while his boss was looking the other way.
“What to do, get her
here or we lose 5 crores Rajveer.” The boss said agitated while tiny little
droplets of sweat crowned his forehead.
“No need Mr. Khanna,
now you won’t be needing her.” said the cops while entering the cabin.
“What are you all
doing here? Rajveer what is all this? Wait. You bastard you planned all this; I
was suspicious that you have fallen in love but still I trusted you. Rajveer
don’t you forget I am your boss..” he was about to punch him in face when the
police caught hold of him.
“I am sorry but I don’t
think so you are the boss anymore.” said the senior inspector.
“You jerk, you were
planning to make me sleep with people just because of your idiotic deal, I won’t
spare you.” Jia stood tall and slapped him hard.
“Jia slap him harder.”
shouted the other female employees in unison.
“Okay now let us take
care of him.” said the cop and arrested Rajat.
“You cannot do this;
you don’t have any evidence against me.” He tried to get rid of the grip.
“A live recording we
have, in which you yourself have confessed that Jia was a part of the deal.” said
the inspector.
“Rajveer you will pay
for this you scoundrel.” He said while he was dragged out of his cabin.
“Will See Rajat
Khanna.” He said holding Jia’s hand.
Everyone was praising
Rajveer for his presence of mind, they were applauding for him but Jia was
standing aside and shedding tears, but why now, when everything was over and
she was safe?
Rajveer noticed that
Jia was standing in isolation, he calls her out but all in vain so he himself
goes to her.
“Hey, why are you
crying now? It is all over, No one will even touch you now. Stop crying princess.”
He said and wrapped his arms around her in a hug.
Jia pushed Rajveer
back, looked at him with fury and said, “Even you were part of all this, you
were Rajat’s fishing bait and he used you to trap me into all this. You were
doing it all right from the beginning, your confession when you asked me to
stop pushing Radhika towards you, your being there with me during my parents
demise, your marriage proposal, everything was fake right, the concern, care
and love you showered all was part of this conspiracy, our marriage, everything
was just a lie. Right when I thought my life is getting back on track, when I
started living my fairy tale life and when I started loving you, you brought me
back on ground, I have fallen really hard Rajveer. Thank You for making me acquainted
of reality.”
“Yes Jia I admit the
fact that I was initially a part of all this, but then I fell in love with you
and I forgot about this deal, I do agree that firstly I was trying to fool around
you but eventually I fell for you Jia, when you tried to push me towards
Radhika I fell for the cupid in you, when you were going through the roughest
patch of your life, your parents death, I fell for the strong girl in you who
showed the world that she isn’t weak if she is alone. On our first night I fell
for the shy Jia who was so nervous inside yet she held on to confidence. The next
morning I fell for the innocent girl who looked beautiful in her sleep, the
moment you woke I fell for the responsible wife you were trying to be.
I fell for you
completely the day we were coming back from Shimla and that day I decided I won’t
let you be the part of this deal and I Would save you from all the evil eyes.” He
said taking a long breath.
“What if you are
still lying.” She asked as it was difficult for her to trust him again.
“I am not, yes I did
try to trap you down Jia but your innocence, honesty and care was stronger than
the evil inside me and hence your love tamed it into a human again.
Instead of you it was
me who got trapped and that too IN YOUR LOVE.” He said and again a modern fairy
tale happened somewhere in the world around us.
The End.
